Dreamland Gran Canaria has confirmed the departure of Nico Brussino, who will not continue with the yellow squad next season after five campaigns and 292 games played.

What happened?

The Argentine wing and the Canary club reached an agreement to transfer Brussino's federative and sporting rights. With the decision, the player will not be part of the roster that will compete in the Primera FEB, the division the club dropped to after 31 years in the Liga Endesa. The club's statement thanked his "work, effort and dedication" and wished him "the best of luck" in his future.

Why does it matter for Dreamland Gran Canaria?

Brussino became a key piece of the team's recent success. He was part of the squad that won the Eurocup 2023 and earned the love of the local fans. With 2,982 points scored, he ranks second on the club's all‑time scoring list, and with 511 made threes he leads the three‑point category. Moreover, his 3,313 valuation points place him as the third player with the highest rating in Dreamland's history.

What did he bring to the team?

In nearly 300 games, Brussino played in the Liga Endesa, the Eurocup and the Champions League. He appeared in four Liga Endesa playoffs and three Copa del Rey editions, reaching a semifinal. In the Eurocup he featured for four seasons and, in the last campaign, contested the Champions League. His perimeter shooting and ability to stretch defenses with three‑point shots were essential to the team's offensive style.

What’s next for Dreamland Gran Canaria?

The club has already announced three signings for the new project: U.S. wing with Dominican passport Marques Townes, Icelandic guard Jón Axel Gudmundsson and North‑American big man Luke Fischer. The coaching staff also changes with Brazilian head coach Bruno Savignani and sporting director Francesc Solana. Brussino’s exit joins those of several veterans such as Mike Tobey, Eric Vila, Andrew Albicy, Isaiah Wong, Kassius Robertson, Brandon Jefferson, Ziga Samar and Chimezie Metu, marking a deep roster overhaul.

What does the future look like?

Dreamland Gran Canaria faces the Primera FEB with the goal of returning to the top tier. The mix of international young talent and the new coaching staff aims to build a solid defense and an efficient perimeter attack. Fans hope the new roster will secure promotion and restore the competitive level that defined the club during three decades in the ACB.
